The Clinical Research Manager provides overall coordination of the Research efforts of the Cancer Center and multiple Principal Investigator's (PI's).  The Clinical Research Manager supervises Cancer Center Clinical Research staff, including but not limited to, Clinical Research Nurses, non-Nurse Clinical Research Coordinators, and Data Managers.  The Clinical Research Manager works directly with Cancer Center Clinical Research Assistant Director, Director, P.I’s, and Cancer Center Research and Clinical staff to ensure that all internal and external regulatory agency policies, procedures, practices, and law are adhered to by all clinical research personnel. The Clinical Research Manager also reviews all protocols for to ensure that the appropriate resources and staffing are available. He/she should have extensive experience in managing clinical research study activities and have a background that may include patient care, biostatistics, data management, and clinical research.  The Clinical Research Manager carries out broad assignments with minimal supervision.  He/she uses independent judgment and experience to solve all but the most complex problems.

The nurse research coordinator I is responsible for coordinating the conduct of research protocols with general supervision, assuring that the integrity and quality of the research is maintained and that the research is conducted in accordance with Good Clinical Practice Guidelines, federal, and sponsor regulations and guidelines, BMHCC and BCRI policies and procedures. This includes recruitment, screening, enrollment, randomization and management of the patient per the research protocol. The nurse research coordinator I is also responsible for specific protocol implementation and management as well as data collection, patient reported outcomes, and questionnaires as required. The research coordinator I may act as a liaison between the hospital, the IRB, study sponsors, and all investigators. The research coordinator I will collaborate with research coordinators, data managers and regulatory specialists. Other duties may be performed as assigned. Travel may be required.
