Codes diagnoses and procedures of patient records. Abstracts information for reimbursement, research, and to generate statistical data. Perform daily feedback and reducation provides, staff and patients of BMG.
Experience Required: Up to one year prior experience in physician/professional outpatient surgery, and or/emergency department coding.
Minimum Education Required: Skill in communicating clearly and effectively using standard English in written, oral and verbal format to achieve high productivity and efficiency. Skill to write legibly and record information accurately as necessary to perform job duties. Associates Degree Preferred.
Minimum Training: Knowledge of medical terminology beneficial. ICD-9, ICD-1-, CPT, HCPCS.
Special Skills: Basic skills in verbal and written communication.
Licensure: Certification in one of the following: Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist Physician (CCSP), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA, Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC/CPCH, Certified Professional Coder Payer).
Minimum Licensure Required: CCS, CCS-P, COC/CPCH, CPC, CPC-P, RHIA, RHIT.
