To perform routine clinic laboratory analyses; recognize problems, identify basic causes, and make corrections by using present strategies; correlate data based on knowledge of technical and instrumental conditions affecting test results; perform quality control procedures within predetermined parameters. Maintain a calm and professional demeanor at all times in the clinic. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education: Associate's Degree Medical Laboratory Technician Program-CAHEA Accredited Required. *** Experience: 1 year Healthcare/Medical-Clinical Preferred. *** License/Certification/Registries (valid for the State of MS): Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Certification Required, or Eligible for Certification by a Nationally Recognized Agency such as ASCP, NCA, or Equivalent Required, or Generalist Certification within 2 Years of Employment Required. *** Skills: Ability to perform routine lab procedures as applicable to clinic CLIA certificate. Type 45 wpm. Proficient in the use of various office equipment such as PC, multi line phone system, copier, facsimile, and printer. Word and Excel helpful. Competent in filing skills (alpha/numeric). Competency in medical procedural coding (CPT & ICD-9) preferred.
