The Sr. Support Technician coordinates the operation of the help desk function and is responsible for installation and maintenance of all PC equipment and software. Technician provides initial troubleshooting with callers to Help Desk, resolves problems with first contact where possible and provides timely service as indicated by IT policy and procedure. Technician will enter, update and maintain problem calls using MBHS help desk software. Support technicians will work closely with all areas of IT to maintain computer system availability and security throughout the organization. Sr. Support Technician provides support and mentoring for Support Technicians. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Required. Completion of Information Technology Coursework Preferred. *** Experience: 2 years Computers/Information Technology-Computer Operator Required, or Completion of Equivalent Certification Required, and 1 year General-Customer Service Required *** License/Certification/Registries (valid for the State of MS): A+ Certification Preferred. Network+ Certification Preferred *** Skills: Strong oral communication skills required. Must be able to execute responsibilities in a dynamic, sometimes stressful environment. Must have proficiency at least three of the following areas; � PC repair and troubleshooting� Desktop OS maintenance and troubleshooting; Basic network troubleshooting; Hardware peripheral repair and troubleshooting; MBHS common applications.
