  • Overview and Responsibilities

    Coordinates with physicians, physician office staff, other departments and surgery staff when applicable to provide a patient focused environment. Provides coordination of patient flow by following established scheduling procedures and protocols. Performs clerically assigned support activities. Performs other duties as assigned. Educates staff on casting and documentation . Assists with education on orthopedic initiatives. Handles instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Assists surgical team during operation/ procedure by arranging, inventorying, and maintaining sterile set up for operation, and passes items as needed. Assists in preparation of surgical suite, moving patients, and in cleaning. Provides aid in exposure, homeostasis, and other technical functions that will help the surgeon carry out safe operation with optimal results for the patient within standards performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Experience  
     3 years plus physician practice experience/ OR In depth understanding of surgery coordinating process. 
    Education  
     Skill in communicating clearly and effectively using standard English in written, oral and verbal format to achieve high productivity and efficiency. Skill to write legibly and record information accurately as necessary to perform job duties.Additional business/college courses preferred.
    Training  
       
    Special Skills  
     Ability to use personal computer programs, i.e. windows, excel, access.Knowledge of medical terminology & various types of surgeries preferred.
    Licensure  
    OPA-C/ SA-CBLS
