Overview and Responsibilities
The Nurse Practitioner in the Clinic is a professional registered nurse with advance education and training in the primary care of patients based on his/her certification/scope of practice; Pediatric, Adult, Geriatric, Family, Oncology. The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing primary care to patients using approved clinical protocols under the supervision of the rural health clinic's Medical Director and collaborating Physician. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education: Master's Degree in Nursing Required. *** Experience: 3 years Healthcare/Medical - Nurse: Staff Required. 1 year Healthcare/Medical - Nurse: Advanced Nursing Practitioner Preferred. *** License/Certification/Registries (valid for the State of MS): Registered Nurse (RN) Required. Nurse Practitioner Certification Required. *** Skills: Must satisfactorily complete on an annual basis a competency evaluation for applicable skills in the clinic setting. Competent in medical procedural coding (CPT, ICD-9). Type 45 WPM, operate PC and various office equipment. Competent in alpha/numeric filing.
