    Job Summary:The Medical Staff Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the operation of Medical Staff services by supporting and assisting Medical Staff Leadership in carrying out the duties for the Medical Staff as defined by the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and other state and national accreditation/regulatory bodies. Manages the relationship between the Medical Staff Leadership Committee, Facility Professional Practice Evaluation Committee, Medical Staff Members, Independent Clinical Professionals, and Advanced Practice Providers. Coordinates and maintains all aspects related to the Quality and Medical Staff departments. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in BMHCC Mission, Vision and Values.

    Experience  
    Experience with medical staff governance or physician practice.1 year of experience in medical staff governance or physician practice.3 years of experience in medical staff governance or physician practice.
    Education  
    Education commensurate with fulfilling requirements of the position.Associate’s Degree in a related fieldBachelor's Degree in a related field preferred
    Training

    • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the medical staff governance and organizational structure. • Working knowledge of the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and policies. • Intermediate to expert skills to use various databases, software and Excel, Word and Power Point. • Superior organizational, written and oral communicative skills. • Ability to work independently and apply critical thinking skills to complex processes and tasks. • Strong time management skills. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for interactions with physicians, physicians’ office staff, management, and administration. • Demonstrated interpersonal and influencing skills that promote teamwork and good working relationships with others. • Superior ability to manage multiple time sensitive processes with competing completion timelines. • Demonstrated ability to manage highly sensitive information with a high degree of security and confidentiality. • Ability to exercise a high level of independent judgment. • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. • Ability to maintain working relationships with physicians, administrators, co-workers, other departments or areas.Computer skills, written and oral communication skills and critical thinking skills to fulfill duties of position.All special skills listed would be preferred, desired for this position.
