Organizes the planning, implementation, and assessment of an academic program’s clinical education activities and keeps it consistent with professional and/or healthcare current trends.
Orients and mentors Clinical Faculty/Preceptor to the role, ensuring that clinical experience is conducive to student learning; promoting best practices.
Assesses the clinical education site’s quality, quantity and diversity of learning experiences to align with the educational needs of students.
Provide classroom and laboratory instruction in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) courses and/or supervise students in DMS clinical courses, including: grading and evaluation of student performance, course assessment, and revision of curriculum with goal of ensuring competent entry-level practitioners.
Under the administrative direction of the Academic Dean and/or general direction of the Program Chair.
Position may require hours beyond the 8 hour workday.
Graduate from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
Bachelor's degree, with a defined plan for completion of a master’s degree.
Three (3) years clinical experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer.
Holds at least 2 current unrestricted sonography credentials by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Credentials must include any combination of RDMS, RVT, or RDCS.
