Overview and Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

 Facilitates activities that builds on the hospital?s mission, to support effective leadership that creates a clear vision for the future and defines the values that underlie the day-to-day activities carried out throughout the hospital.
Supports patient?s fundamental right to considerate care that safeguards their personal dignity and respects their cultural, psychosocial and spiritual values in an effort to meet patient?s care needs and preferences.
Informs the pre-admission nurse of any additional data related to the infant, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient that is necessary and for the continuous assessment and care of the patient.
Accurately follows physician?s orders when ordering diagnostic tests and performs those test which are part of the multi-skilled position.
Participates in providing safe, cost effective patient care in a timely manner to achieve positive patient outcomes.
Participates in providing education to patients, families, staff, students, and physicians by following established guidelines to ensure safety, continuity of care and advancement of knowledge and skills.
Participates in performance improvement activities (PI) by identifying areas of opportunity to ensure quality is consistent with established guidelines.
Provides a safe, functional, and effective environment for patients, staff, and other individuals in the hospital, thus promoting quality patient care and achieving good outcomes.
Completes assigned goals.


Job Summary

 Serves as the unit receptionist and assists the nursing staff by relieving them of many of the clerical tasks indirectly related to the delivery of quality patient care. Monitors work environment to ensure safe and efficient operations. Under the general supervision the RN, Ambulatory Care Director, and/or Shift Coordinator. Performs other duties as assigned.



 Description Minimum Required Preferred/Desired
     Skill in communicating clearly and effectively using standard English in written, oral and verbal format to achieve high productivity and efficiency. Skill to write legibly and record information accurately as necessary to perform job duties.


         Description Minimum Required Preferred/Desired
             Admission and insurance experience. Phlebotomy certification or one year of phlebotomy experience.


               Description Minimum Required Preferred/Desired
               All full time and part time employees must become NAHAM certified after 15 months of employment in the position.
